UNMEASURED CIRCUMSTANCES

Have your ever in childhood tried,
In palms held fast, within clutching grasps
To seize and in unyielding devotion strived
To lay hold of rain drops hurling by.
Brazen-faced and single hearted withstood inclement weather,
One by one to catch your first, your second and yet another.
Till from crumpled hands folded
They slip being much too much to shoulder.
Cupped palms filled, brimming and spilling
And poorly merged fingers impeaching,
Hoping to have ensnared many and much more
Before falling from parted skies, descending in intercepted store.
Have you from depths of deep, deep wells
Stared starry-eyed
And cursed the wretched things so ill-formed, insufficient and undefined,
For not preventing, such as these
And failing so miserable, to let not all be seized.

LOST

Where is justice,
Where can I find
The One who tips the scales of time.
Where is revenge
So sturdy, so true
To avenge the fallen, the wrong subdue.
Can honour be sought
Along the righteous way
Where trod the faint to be justified someday.
Will godliness leave
Bitter roots to be planted
In treasured vineyards too green to regard untended.
And where must hearts
Ripped, torn asunder
repeatedly look for far ahead yonder.
Shall peace befriend them
will healing balm
for a second, to this raging storm bring calm.
